Help me with layout ideas please :)

That will be the plan with the soffits
Oh, Ooops, missed this part:
Under the eaves/soffits along the 10 ft sides to the North and South will be ventilation, with extra cut in the peak of the West roof peak.
Was so enamored with the roof overhangs.
I'd put louvered gable vents at both ends.

Will you fence off part of shed for storage of feed, bedding etc?
It sure is handy!
Then you could put the nests in the divider wall for easy egg collection.

I suggest roosts or a shelf under the window, for the chickens to be able to look out. I had a chicken house once with nest boxes under the window, with their solid top being a shelf the chickens could walk on--they were forever looking out the window, especially in winter.
Mine do too. I have five windows in the coop and they’re always peeping me in the morning. They like to roost facing the windows too.

I love this idea but sadly I don't think I have the space for it. I am going to fence off a few feet for storage but I want to leave as much floor space as possible because of our winters. I think having the built in egg box would take up too much in the front of the shed/coop.

I will def have one on the west side. I'm hesitant on the east because of the wind off the lake. I think it will create too much draft. We'll probably start without one and add one if needed.
