I just got some BO chicks in this week from Cackle Hatchery. They seem to have plenty.

I am so so sorry about the chicks, poor little things!!! You said they were just gone, but where are they, could any of them be alive yet? I know I'm grasping but who knows!

well i woke up to my freind say my dog had a chick in her mouth and that one was dead and i had 12 of the chicks my other dog was in the coop siting there with 6 chicks dead around it and i walked out sad and angrey

and i steped on a wing bone filled with just a little tissue so i think the other 5 are in my dogs stomach. i searched my backyard and couldent find any chick and heard not peeping

its ok it happens chicks come and go chicks give love eggs and then a very bad dog eats them

well i cant really be mad at her its there nature and i never introduced it to her

How sad. What a rotten day for you. I guess your dogs enjoy a good chicken dinner as much as many other predators. Reinforce the fence well, it's not a mystery what you need to guard against, and go get yourself some more babies! W ehave a great hatchery here in Idaho called Dunlaps, I can vouch for the healthy quality of their birds.
