Help! Mite infestation!

That's really not feasible if you have over a few chickens. I've had mites once and that was a couple years ago. 3 treatments and haven't had any since. Nor lice.
I couldn't imagine shampooing each one of my chickens one at a time. Lol
I've done it with over forty before. Took me the whole morning. Time consuming but worth it. It wiped out the whole population of mites.
It takes more than one person to take on the challenge though.

Anyway I am going to TSC this weekend and I need to find a product.
get this:

Use this when it is warm:

Use powder on the birds when it's too cold to spray

If you have a large coop you might want one of these too.

That's a pretty good article but there are lots of errors in it. :(

Yeah but most people aren't going to work that hard when they can just spray. Also outside temperatures would be a issue. I wouldn't want to put bathed chickens back out in the elements unless it was hot outside and even then i would be hesitant.
Are you just shampooing your birds without changing bedding and treating the coop? Cause if you're are then just spraying the chickens would be alot less work and time.

I've always heard that ivermectin is good treatment for many parasites including mites -- is that wrong? Just surprised it hadn't been mentioned yet.
I love ivermectin for lice and use it when my peafowl have them. My preferred lice treatment for chickens is permethrin though.
