I know I’ve asked lots of questions and I hope I’m not being annoying, but do I apply the veterciyn spray and apply Neosporin right after or should I space it out a bit? Sorry I’m asking so many questions, but I greatly appreciate y’all’s help. I hope y’all know how much y’all’s help means to me. Thanks againYep! I hope she gets better!
As previously stated, wrapping is not always possible. This advice is applicable to ALL injuries. You need to realize this because injuries will happen again, but each new incident will be different. You’re learning from what you do now. Use your best judgement. Clearly location is a challenge and wrapping is not always possible.I’m using just veterciyn spray now. I’m not wrapping it because first of all I can’t wrap her head and secondly I don’t what it to rub the scab off and open it back up. I’m hoping for the best.

Also as previously stated, Vetericyn is used for wound cleaning and was recommended for you to use. It is non-medicated and not an antiseptic so it will not burn. It is used for debriding (removing dirt and debris) from wounds. However, it is only a liquid and will dry after use. Be sure to reapply ointment after rinsing the wound. It’s okay to use Vetericyn before every application of ointment.
My guess is, if the chick has made it this far she’s already well on her way to recovery! You just have to keep doing what you’re doing. Keep monitoring her, cleaning the wound and applying ointment as needed, give her electrolytes in her water, and ensure she has feed. Someone suggested wet feed and that is a great way to keep her hydrated and fed if she will eat it.
