I need some information....A little over a month ago we bought a new horse and a rooster came with it....they heard I never had a guy for my six girls....and now my Nankings Bantam has become broody (2nd time the first time was over the winter...)) .I only have one bantam and the rest are sex links and one plymouth Rock and a RIR....the rooster is a little over a year old and is a RIR.He is a hanesome Big bird but I have never seen him doing his"thing" with my girls....Actually he's kind of a "chicken"hahaha!!!....He crows and struts his stuff .....Soooo I noticed Jacqueline (named after my Mother in Law) has decided to lay on all the girls eggs...in the corner on the coop floor...the nest boxes are too good for them to lay in.....they all lay there eggs in one spot....
Okay my question is ...WHAT SHOULD I DO !!!! AHHHH!!!...Should I mark yesterdays and todays eggs with an X and just let her be and see if some hatch?..and collect the ones with no X marked on them......How many days would it take for the eggs to hatch?...She is on the floor...should I place her and the eggs in a nest box off the floor...?She sometimes gets picked on by the Big girls.....or should i just make a open wood box and cover her up so she feels protected and secure.....and is it okay to pick her up and bring her to the water and or feed containers once in awhile...I did that when she becaime broody over the winter...but the eggs were not fertile..Do you think there is a chance that some of the eggs are fertile. this time since there is a Roo ??...thanks so much !!!We are so excited !
