Awww, I am so sorry.

Look up cocci treatments right away and get the others started or this could become a real issue for you. Good luck.

IHe was still alive this morning, but lots of bloody stool and very weak. Still alive when I got home from work, but non responsive, couldn't open his eyes and mild convulsions. I had my husband put him down. Was not going to let him suffer any more when there was nothing could be done for him.
The others are now on medicated feed and vitamin water. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Coccidiosis is very treatable. I am sorry you lost your chick, but a day or two on sulmet or corrid can bring a chick that appears very ill back to nearly normal. Please get one of thes and treat the other birds.

Just read about the vitamin water. NOT a good plan with coccidiosis. Amprollium (ther medicine in the feed, and also in corrid) is a thimine blocker, which the coccidia need to reproduce. By giving the vitamins, you are counteracting the medicine.

Thank you for telling me. The medicine in the medicated feed we got is Decoquinate. The feed is called Deccox Type B medicated crumbles. I will stop the vitamin water. Just thought it would give an extra boost to them to fight it off.
