It could be a temporary bout of a vitamin deficiency. This imbalance can occur without warning, and with supplements, it can correct just as fast.

If you can, get some Poultry Nutri-drench from the feed store. Give her one drop per day. I will put two drops in the palm of my hand, and dip the chick's beak in the puddle. When the puddle is reduced to a smear, she has had the proper dose.

If you have vitamin E 400iu on hand, give her one capsule. You can break it open and do the same as I described above to get her to take it.

If you have any vitamin B complex, you can use one tablet per day, crushed in a little applesauce.

If it's a vitamin problem causing this odd behavior, Sweet Pea should show improvement within days.

This might be wry neck, which can be from hereditary, a vitamin deficiency, from a head injury, and later in life, other infectious diseases. I would also recommend vitamins including vitamin B1 (thiamine,) vitamin E, and the mineral selenium, found in egg, tuna
, and sunflower seeds. Make sure that your feed is a balanced chick feed , and is fresh dated so vitamins are full of potency.
