Thanks everyone! This is my first time keeping chickens and I kinda freaked out when she swallowed it. Didn't think to just search for all the crazy things chickens have swallowed and survived.

I think that earring is a gonner. Not sure I want to be sifting through chicken poop for the next week.

I have been joking with my hubby when they were younger about how they must be hens because they were always going for the jewelry. Turns out one of them is a total gold digger!

Lesson learned.

Another Best Quote of the Day! Honestly, sifting through chicken poo isn't all that bad. I think it'd be totally worth it - hey, where do you live again?

Next time you want to dig for diamonds come to Arkansas Crater of Diamonds State Park

Just kidding. I would be freaked too but it would be explaining what happened to my DH. He would never believe it. Should come out fine.

My mom's barred rock ate my sister in laws earring about a month ago... She is a vet tech so she took her in and for x rays the day of and then put her in a small pen to keep an eye out for it. Filled her full of fresh veggies to make her poo. Couple of days later then x rayed her again, no more earring.... They never found it, but if you are more worried about the chicken than the ring, I wouldnt stress out about her too much! Good Luck

I guess you can go to Southern States or somewhere and get one of those cattle stomach magnets and just draw it out of her mouth through her skin and body....... I guess the earring has some metal in it somewhere, or something magnetized lol
