Good evening everyone. I am a very new, very green chicken owner. I have 10 chickens in a 7 X 2 X 2 mtr run. I got them as 18 week pullets, and I've had them 3 months. We've just completed the fencing that makes the bottom 20% of the garden secure, so started 3 days ago to slowly introduce them to their free range area. All going well, but today I noticed one of the girls had what looks like a sore on her comb and black little scabs all over it. She seems ok, as do all the rest, although egg production has dropped off to only 5 eggs a day from 7/8.
Advice please, lots of it

I would recommend putting bacitracin on it, myself.

If the condition doesn't improve over a few days, it could be fungal, in which case you can put Lamisil cream on it, just make sure the other chickens don't start picking on her. It's a good idea to put the bacitracin/ointment on late in the evening so that she goes straight to roost afterwards and it has more of a chance to soak in and do its thing.
