Two months ago two teenagers brought us a chicken that had been attacked by a dog and her right side torn up and we didnt think she would live but we offered to take her and see. We have chickens so we figured we would just let her stay in the yard. I put some antibacterial stuff on her wound and then some wound sealer so that it wouldnt get bugs or anything. We thought she was doing better, she hops around on one foot and acts like a normal chicken and she is so sweet. A couple days ago we noticed she had basically a giant scab of infection over her wound and now she actually stinks, like it is rotting. We were thinking of putting her down but I figured I would ask about it here first because she is such a sweetheart and I have really grown attached to her. Any advice?
