When I opened the coop this morning one of my girls was hanging by her wing-it was stuck in the portable pet gates I got for them. I got her unstuck and she didn’t put up a fight or anything but when I set her down she wobbles to the left and only takes a step or two. She basically went to the corner of the coop to hide.
She is eating and drinking and making noises, seems fine other than her mobility. I tried to feel around but I’m new to chickens so I don’t know how to tell if it is broken. I didn’t feel anything sticking out or strange though. Just need some advice on what to do. I feel so bad for her.
She is 16 weeks old and is a Sapphire Gem.

It's very lucky you found her when you did. She could have died from shock. But now she needs to be treated for shock even though she may have no injuries, which should become apparent soon if there are any. The symptoms you see are signs she is in shock.

Shock, left untreated, can result in organ malfunction and shut down. Mix one cup tepid water and one teaspoon sugar with a pinch of salt and baking soda, and give it as her only water source today and tomorrow. Dip her beak a couple times to get her started to drink.

Offer cooked egg to get her interested in food.

I hope your hen isn't seriously hurt! Time will tell, however. We had something similar happen to one of our chickens, we came out one afternoon and found her hanging by her hock from part of a dog crate we were using as a barrier in the coop (ironically, it was to keep that very chicken from going and making nests on the track of the sliding screen door we have in our coop). We brought her inside and gave her sugar water and a bit of food. She seemed perky enough, but didn't want to walk for a day or so. Luckily, she only had a sprain. Definitely provide sugar water, though, it can be a lifesaver. Fruit is also a good way to tempt a shocked bird's appetite, and also provides an extra boost of sugar.

It can be common for young birds to get caught in objects around the coop. The fighting to get out usually is what causes the damage to a leg or wing, and also the stress of being stuck. We had a similar accident when a young pullet was found hanging by a leg from a handle on the waterer, and after fighting, just hung there having given up. She was found just in time with a full recovery. Hopefully, when she is out of shock, her nerves will heal and perhaps she will recover movement. If her wing is sprained or broken, sometimes gently wrapping the wing to her body in a normal position. Let us know how she gets along.

Oh my gosh…we are farmers and in the middle of harvest so I unloaded two loads of corn into the bins and then came back to check on her and had sugar water and the baking soda mix in hand. Go into the coop, she isn’t in the corner. All the food I gave her was gone AND she was outside walking around like nothing happened. I asked her if she was ok and she clucked at me and then started following me around. Phew!!
I’m guessing she maybe hadn’t been hanging too very long and I’m praying that all is now well…definitely crossing my fingers that all is well but so far so good 😊
Thank you for the responses I really appreciate it!!
