Help! My chickens/livestock are all healthy!!!!!

Thanks Beekissed for starting this thread!

All my chickens are happy and healthy. They are going through a subtle, natural molt at the moment, but when that is all said and done with, I will be getting even more eggs!

Mine free range now all day and my feed bill dropped in half, the slugs in my yard are gone and egg production has doubled!

They are all fed well, and naturally treated with cayenne, pumpkin seeds, yogurt and apple cider vinegar. Have not had one problem yet.

Have had backyard chickens all my life and never experienced any major problems with them.

At the moment this is what owns me:

I have 1 RIR Ruby, 1 EE Olive, 1 BA Felicia, 2 Ameraucana Hens May and Hanna, 1 buff O named "Pumpkin Pie", 2 Splash Ameraucauna Roos "Splish and Splash", 1 Blue Wheaten Ameraucana Roo "Grant", and my bad boy "Tex" is the most beautiful Wheaten Roo you would ever see! (All of my lovely Ameraucanas are from Tailfeathers here in WA.)

Also: 2 beautiful young Rouen ducks Phillepe and Francesca who love to keep my family in stitches with their silly duck antics!

Mine are happy, healthy, and addicting!

When asked how many I have, er I can't say, I've quit counting.....

They get plenty of treats (they love watermelon!) and sunflower seeds, oats, and free range from fall until planting season!

Plus, my 4 oldest kids spoil them to death by digging up worms and bugs and hand feeding them as treats to the chickerdoodles!

Great thread, Bee!

Chickens have been the easiest animals we have ever raised. We lost a few over the years - Ida flew into a door jam and broke her neck, Ellen had a heart attack. But all have been healthy.

We treat all our animals with a "do no harm" and natural approach to treatment. For the flock that means yogurt, cayenne pepper, turmeric, garlic, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, foraging the acreage, lots of sunshine and fresh air, draft-free housing.

Our healthy flock of First Ladies and Sam is now part of Quail_Antwerp's healthy flock.

I have 6 cochin hens, 1 cochin roo and 1 EE hen. They are 18-24 wks old and they are all healthy and doing good! The roo always crows when I go out to check on them, just to let me know they are his girls and not mine. I have one buff cochin hen laying and one that is starting to show signs of impending laying. Just got some ducklings yesterday too. Only three days old and they all look and act heathy. Not to mention the cuteness overload going on over here.

Wonderful thread!

My new flock of 27 is doing great!

Two-week-olds, four-week-olds, and seven-week-olds, are all living together in harmony.

And after a good dose of pyrethrin, they'll be even better.

They're healthy, happy, hungry, and affectionate, and i'm having a great time! I've never had such affection chickens before; it surprises me every time.

Everyone is doing fine! 250+ chickens, the cats, the dogs, the turkeys, the geese and ducks. The goats are good, kids growing like weeds and doing good. Although Lolli Pop was in heat and wouldn't shut up. Pigeons are good now, the one the cat almost killed is healing. Guineas are fine. Rabbits are nice and fat and nummy looking.

Other than the egg blowing up in the incubator and the donkey with an attitude problem, all is well!

No chickens yet -- I should say no chickens right now, but I can't wait to get back into chickens. Never had a lick of trouble with them, they were cheap cheap CHEAP to keep, and more fun than any other critter I ever kept in a long and dishonorable life!

One difference between now and back then: I sure do wish BYC had been there! I can think of dozens of mistakes I would NOT have made!
