This morning I went out to the coop/run to give my girls some oatmeal and pomegranate. It was then that I noticed some worms laying in the sand. There were 5 thin whitish worms that I am sure are intestinal worms.

I am a newbie so don't know what to do. I have 5 girls that are all approximately 19 weeks old. None are laying yet. What should I give them and how?

Please help me. I'm a pitiful chicken mom I guess.

We use Valbazen at 1/2 ml for adults and 1/4 ml for pullets. We prefer Valbazen because it kills all worms our birds can get. It is available online or with a perscription from a vet (in AZ we have to have a script)

It is given orally with a syringe or on bread round here. Some don't eat the bread so we have to hold them and dose in the mouth.

Do a search for worms and look for dawg53's responses. He is extremely knowledgeable and will have explicit instructions on what and how much to give! Good luck!

Thank you all! I found Dawg53's response. Made a copy of it so I wouldn't forget. I bought some Wazine at our local feed store today. Will give it to them in their water tomorrow morn.

I love this web site. You all are sooo helpful.
