They aren’t super happy about being separate, walking up and down the new barrier. But that’s fine, as long as they can’t hurt each other.

I put a board the swings to either side of the house door, and will put them in on either side. Also built a gate at one end of the barrier....

Our situation is a little different but I thought that I would share in case it could help. We had 2 male muscovy and 1 female for 1 year. They were fine until they matured. Some fighting occurred but not too bad. We had two clutches hatch last year and unfortunately 9 of them were boys. Once they were around 7 months old it was obvious that we had to do something or they were literally going to kill each other. In desperation we took all 9 males to a livestock auction where we watched our sweet boys being held up like they were wild animals and auctioned off to the highest bidder. It was sad but our only option at the time. We have learned that if we are going to have girls and boys that we are going need to identify the boys as soon as possible and move them out asap. Our other two males fight less now that we have 7 females.
I feel your pain as both of our boys are very special and we couldn't imagine rehoming either one. I hope that you are able to work things out.
I have four ducks:
Peking - Female, Goldie (she’s a diva)
Cayuga - Male, Midnight (he’s HUGE)
Khaki Campbell - Male, Chocolate
Mallard - Male, Half-pint
We thought we had 2 and 2 and didn’t find out about the 3rd male until a couple months ago; we love all four of our ducks and don’t have the heart to get rid of any of them. We’re trying to wait till the female begins laying eggs and hope she gets us some females. For the most part, they all get along....until recently, Midnight (he’s huge) began acting more aggressive towards the other Drakes. Chocolate will simply bow down to him and moves out of his way. Half-pint (the smallest of the bunch) does the opposite, he will go at it with midnight and midnight will have him by the neck and me or my husband will stop it. Midnight has started pecking at them when they go near the food, intimidating Chocolate, who just walks away. Our female hasn’t laid her first egg yet...she’s about 5 months old. My question is, when will she lay her first egg and do they only lay eggs during certain seasons, like Spring and Summer? Or do they lay eggs year round like chickens?

I recommend starting a new thread. You'll get a lot more answers, since this one is from over a year ago.
