Help my duck egg is pipping facing down and my other egg has a strange mark on it!

This is the one I said looked burnt. It was the one facing down I can hear her chirping. It looks so odd compared to the rest of the ducks that pipped.

The new other one died bc there wasn’t a heart beat or any movement. I’m so sad. She is so precious. I took pictures so maybe you could tell me what was wrong.

I'm not sure, she may have broken a vein when she pipped. I suggest you leave the eggs alone and set them back in the incubator, ducks are slow hatchers, I know how stressful it is for you, but they need to go at their own pace right now.

You are right. Thank you for all of your advice. I won’t touch them anymore.
What was the red thing coming out of her stomach?

Here is a picture of the egg I said looked burnt. I’m not messing with it or the other ones.

I’m sorry to keep bothering you! I just want to make sure I’m doing everything correctly. Do the eggs actually hatch on the 28th day or does it usually take 24-48hrs starting on the 28th? Can you tell how advanced they are by their pipping?

Sorry got busy, Rouens usually hatch (are out of the shell) on the 28th day of incubation, although how long they have been stored will make a difference, or if your temp has been running a tad cold they may take longer, also incubation starts 24 hours after you set them in the incubator. All the pips look normal, and the membranes look perfect. :D

No problem! I’m so grateful for all of your wisdom your sharing with me.
I had no idea incubation started 24 hr after I set them in! So my ducks started pipping on day 24 and today is 25 and not 26! So they have 3 days or so more to go! 😱
