It’s day 31 now and it’s been over 48hrs since the external pip. He’s in a weird position and has pipped on the wrong side ( the smaller end of the egg). I’m reluctant to help it because everyone I do anything it starts bleeding. I will insert a photo to show you now. Any advice!??

Blood means the duckling isn't ready to hatch yet. It looks like it has access to air, so it should be given the time it needs for blood vessels to dry up and yolk to absorb.

The link @nuthatched provided should be helpful. This one, by Pyxis, also has very helpful info about assisted hatches, including malpositions. Because the duckling pipped the wrong (narrow) end of the egg, it will most likely require assistance to eventually get out of the egg.

That said, assistance must be slow and cautious. I know this is a stressful time and you don't want to lose the duckling, but rushing a hatch can have serious consequences. My suggestion us to read the assisted hatch information carefully and only assist incrementally. Be prepared, too, for the potential of an unhealed navel (and to treat it), even if the blood vessels dry up before the duckling hatches.

Best of luck!
