Hello a couple of my duck eggs have started piping and there is quite a lot of movement on day 23. I'm just wondering do I still turn the eggs as normal? Also do I still mist them ? Or do I only turn the eggs that have shown no sign of piping yet? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

Hi 👋
My ducks have finally hatched today 9 on total. I had woken up to 3 already hatched this morning and then the rest followed suit throughout the morning. I’m just wondering when I should take them out of the incubator? Some sites say 12 to 24hrs. Others say once the duckings have dried? I’m not sure when the first 3 hatched so if I wait 24hrs it will be longer for them. Also it’s a bit cramped in the incubator with 9 duckings.

Congratulations 🥳
I take mine out as soon as they are waking around. Usually around 4 hours
I always go in at least pairs or if shy need a bit more time I make sure there is 2 left in the bator
They can still be a bit wet as long as they can stand up and move around
They will dry just fine under the heat

Thank you 🙏 they are very fluffy and moving around like crazy so will start to transfer them across 😃

So you see a beak in the air cell or just shadowing pushing on it ?
Has the air cell dipped forward fast for hatching yet ?
If air cell has dipped forward I would stop turning those eggs but don’t you the humidity until you see an internal pip. Then start lockdown for all
You can continue to mist, cool and turn the others

Top pic looks like baby is in the wrong end ?
If so and that’s an external pip then humidity need to go up and lockdown starts making sure all other eggs have air cells facing up
Wrong end babies take 48- 72 hours so don’t worry if it’s 3 days before it hatches
Egg 2 looks it got bumped not a pip
Possibly one rolled into it ?
