Help! My duck is having trouble walking!!!

A mite infestation can run them down and they become poorly - it can make them very wobbly and weak.

Back to your earlier question, neurological issue can arise from their own physiology that has been dormant until now, or it can be something they ate or have been bitten by.

We are all trying to get you to step through the possibilities now but she does not look well, so a vet is your best bet if you can get there tomorrow.

I will try my best to get her to the vet tomorrow!

Give her a check over yourself too - its good practice and you can update the vet on anything you come across.

The vet near me that usually does avians no longer does them so I don’t have a vet near me that does birds. I’m not sure what to do.

Give her a once over and see if you can find anything.

I will! We rescued her at 4 weeks and she had an extremely bad niacin deficiency. I gave her vitamin b complex and brewers yeast and it helped her a lot. She has always walked with a limp because of it and she tripped on a rock and fell pretty hard not to long ago so I wonder if she is hurting from that as well. I will try to call as many vets as possible, but I know most of them if not all of them don’t take birds. I literally love this duck and it hurts me to know that she is not well. I’m trying my best to ensure her health! It just really stresses me out not knowing what is wrong.

I understand - I've spent many an hour and on the internet trying to work out whats wrong with one of my ducks !

Once you have checked her over, please weigh her if you can, then weigh her every day - weight is a good indicator of how things are developing.

If you can seperate her from the others but so she can see the others, do that and keep her contained.

Treat her like you did previously for the niacin deficiency - if you can add in a A, C and E vit with selenium, do so.

As she's contained you can track her intake and poos which can also help people here understand whats going on.

So just like you would with people, rest, monitor and try and get us much good stuff in them as poss, including water.

Okay, I can try to separate her! She is only with one other duck and they are inseparable! I am with her a lot of time in the day and I make sure she is eating and drinking a lot. She also poops frequently just like the other duck! I have not weighed her though so I will have to do that.
