Hopefully he will be. Please don't chase your ducklings any more though, make them a small area to be in while your with them that way you'll be able to pick them up with out having to chase them and risking any more getting hurt.

Im going to try and not interact with them a lot, I don't want this to happen again.

I suggest you spend time near them, just so they get more comfortable with you. Offer them treats. Talk to them quietly. Ducks are social animals and can learn to trust. It takes a long time.
Okay. Thank you. The thing is, the will not come near me or even when im feeding or offering tomatoes to them.

Do not expect them to come near. Sit at a distance from them and chat, or sing. Place treats where they can get to them, then move away.

Over time, you may be able to sit closer and closer to them.

You may not be able to get right up next to them, but I feel you can do a lot to help them relax around you.

any tips to help my ducks get used to me and not be afraid. Any good treats that you feed your ducks?

Thawed frozen peas are nice. Some ducks like little slices of fresh tomato, or chopped cucumbers. My ducks like it when I sit on the ground (I sit on something like an old towel) and just talk to them.

I have some ducks that I adopted that were very nervous around people. They still get nervous, but they are much better than they used to be. I can get about 3 feet from them before they start to get upset. Some day I may be able to touch them. But I know it will be slow going. And that is okay.

The ones I raised from day-old, they let me get near. But most of them don't really like me to touch them. They will come up to me, but if I reach for them, they will move away. But I know they like me anyway. I can pretty easily reach over and pick them up if I am worried that there is something wrong.

They went through a phase, though, when they were three weeks old, as if I were an axe murderer. That is normal duckling behavior. It took weeks, though, to get them to calm down. So I know it can be done. And I know it takes patience.

If you like to read, or listen to an iPod, or play guitar, those are things you can do in sight of the ducks that can help calm them down around you. Just don't give in to the temptation to move in too close, too fast. Ducks like to hear people sing quietly. They really like it. Mine do, anyway.

Tomorrow im goanna sit out there with a towel with frozen peas. Hopefully, overtime the get accustom to me. I'll try to do this everyday while reading. Thank you for the tips

Sounds like a plan! I put the peas in a metal bowl - always a red metal bowl - and now the ducks recognize the bowl and get very happy to see me coming!

I also add a little water to the peas and thaw them out a bit - I imagine that if a duck eats up several frozen peas very fast, she will get a brain freeze headache just like we do. Or it could damage her throat. But maybe not. I like to be cautious.
