Hey, it's not hard to get attached to your chickens. Been there, done that! Especially my sweet baby. Even though my chicks could care less about me unless I'm bearing grasshoppers... they're my little 'feather babies'.

I'm so truly sorry for your loss!!! At least you know she passed feeling loved and cared for!

I relate to being surprised at how much you come to love them! Initially we got three pullets that were newly laying last year as part of a large, year long project my son whose a sophomore had signed up for in Animal Biology class. I came to love them so much we got four more chicks in May! They really are our babies so I understand being deeply sad when we lose one or have one suffering
