Help! My hen had 3 eggs today: 1 regular with shell and two soft ones.

My RIR has been laying for a few weeks and has had no issues. today she had one shelled egg and two soft ones. Is she ok? Is it her system just a little out of cycle?

Are you sure they are all from her? You get all sorts of weird eggs with a pullet that has just started laying. Each pullet is an individual that matures in her own time. It takes time for their bodies to adjust and work out the kinks. I wouldn't worry unless it continues.

My BSL has laid 3 eggs in a single day on 2 occasions. The first being with a shell, occasionally dbl yolker in the morning, followed by 2 rubber eggs the same evening which I actually watched her lay within 5 minutes of each other. Since she's straightened out she lays a single egg every morning and has not missed a day in over 3 weeks. Your girl will get it figured out!
