Help! My newly hatched chick seems to be dying!

Hello everyone, my chicks just hatched 1-2 days ago. One of the chicks is very weak, and it seems to be gagging. It is also laying down, is very weak. Also, there seems to be red residue from his umbilical cord ( like a clump) but it isn’t bleeding. Help please, what can I do here?

I'm sorry your chick is not doing well.
Can you post some photos of the chick and the umbilical cord?
Is the abdomen swollen?
Have you see the chick poop at all?
Has the chick had any fluids/water since hatch?
How is your brooder set-up? (photos?)

I have been giving him sugar water and haven’t seen him poop. The gagging now seems to have stopped but he is still weak. My brooder is set up, I wanted to separate him from the other chicks but he protests by chirping weakly. I’m having some trouble uploading the pics but I think this one is the impo
