I am incubating quails for the first time and yesterday i was out all day and i came back home to find an egg externally pipped and we have been recording them on a time lapse where we have noticed some movements with a few eggs but since yesterday the pipped egg hasn't moved and i'm slightly worried, shall i leave them alone for a while? Please help!

It's not unusual for them to rest after externally pipping, 12 to 16 hours sometimes, sometimes quicker. Just give them more time. Good luck with your hatch! :jumpy

Thank you, if they take longer than 12-16 hours is there anything i can do?

:welcome If it needs help making a little hole in the egg near the air sac and gently peel away the shell and membrane. Do this is short intervals as the egg might cool down. Stop if you see red veins or blood or if the yolk isn't absorbed.
