HELP! my quails eye popped ?????????

i walked outside to check on my quail and i noticed its eye was severly swollen. i figured an infection but peeled back the eyelid and there was no eye. is there anything i can do for the swelling ? im taking the chance that it will heal but the swelling is so bad. has anyone ever seen this before? (no sharp objects in the pen)

Try holding her like a baby on her back to calm her down and wrap an ice cube in a paper towel and place it on the swelling.

unfortunately its night so i am unable to do anything today. she is around 2 or 3 i would estimate and she is the only one left she is kind of my pet. she has the whole space to herself and it isnt too roomy but isnt too small. thanks for the advice i just hope she make is through tonight and until i get home from school tomorrow. im hoping it stays lear of an infection but i honestly have no clue how this could have even happened but i wish i could have prevented it.

Something punctured It's eye if it's gone now and that means it sunk into its head...Antibiotics needed..

I have a product called vetracyn, and I use it for cuts and eye wounds. It helped a horse with a cut on its eye that looked like it was getting infected. I know the eye is gone, but it may keep it from getting infected. You can get it at the local feed store around here.

How big, exactly, is the enclosure?
Is it inside or outside? Could an animal have reached through and hurt the quail?
What kind of quail?

Hello! I recommend collidal silver. Using an eye dropper you can drop it onto the eye/infection. I’ve had birds with bad eye infections before and this has completely healed their eyes. It also has helped an animal with an eye that was cut up from their hooves so whatever had happened to your quails eye, the collidal silver should help.

Thank everyone for the advice. I am treating with antibiotics and swelling seems to be going down !
