Help my Rocky roo, PLEASE!!*UPDATE crop impaction*, Rocky's gone

ok: Rocky's in the house in a clear plastic (large) storage tote. There is a waterproof towel-wrapped heating pad on low in one end, and a towel-wrapped thick fleece pad in the other end. He doesn't seem to want the heat right now. He feels thin, but not skeleton thin. No nasal discharge, no eye bubbles, no wheezing respiratory sounds. He just had a rather sizable poop (before I put him in the plastic tub

that appeared to be mostly water with some grass-green particulate matter. (no foam, unpleasant but not really strong scent). I had not wormed any of my chickens during the summer; I was afraid it would stress them by worming them while it was so hot & humid. (I'd gotten the Eprinex a couple of months ago and was planning to worm them this week

; I figured the easiest way would be to do them while they were on the roost. I didn't want to stress him more, but I went ahead and put 1/2 cc on him, approx. half of it on the nape of the neck and the other half just above the tail. I mixed some Durvet vitamins & electrolytes and gave it to him by syringe. He only took about 2 1/2 to 3 ccs, and I thought I'd let him rest a little while before offering more. He acts quite weak (trembles a bit while standing), but had the energy to hop onto the top edge of the pet carrier I'd put him in when I first brought him in the house. I don't know what the med was that the1much had mentioned; is it available at TSC? I do have some ACV here; should I mix that with the vitamin/electrolyte solution or in plain water (would the acidity destabilize the electrolytes?) ? The only other "bird-booster" I have here is some water soluble vitamins and minerals I got from the avian vet as a supplement for my inside birds (which is why I put Rocky in the other end of the house, and am not entering the bird room until changing and sanitizing hands, arms, feet, shoes, etc. Any other suggestions? and THANK YOU SO MUCH, those of you who have been kind enough and taken the time to offer your help. I appreciate you VERY VERY MUCH!!! Keep Rocky-roo in your prayers, please! I don't think I could bear another loss right now after losing my beloved Sparky day before yesterday...

You just put the ACV in plain water. Mine wont even drink the V&E mixture in water. Use maybe a Tablespoon to a gallon of water of ACV. The stuff with the sediment, unfiltered, is the best to use. It's so hard to diagnose from vague symptoms, but if you use the same protocol with all birds who seem off, it will serve you well.

Adding that I'm so sorry about Sparky. I know how it feels.

What I use with Eprinex is 1/4-1/2 cc on my standard size hens. My larger hens get 1/2 cc and so do my roosters. If I had a light breed like an Andalusian or Leghorn or some bantams (or 5 lb Lexie, who is small for a BR hen), they'd get 1/4 cc. It's best to use ample wormer for this and they need it redone in about 2-3 weeks, to catch worm eggs that hatch inside them later.

Went to WalMart on a yogurt run

Got plain organic yogurt and sprinkled just a dusting of the vitamin/electrolyte powder on it. He wasn't very interested, but did eat some of it as I held a teaspoon up to his beak. I gave him a couple more ccs of the vitamin electrolyte water, and he's on the heating pad now, snuggled down. He had another mostly water w/ green particulate matter (this one smelled ATROCIOUS, unlike the other one that didn't have a strong scent). It may just be wishful thinking, but he does seem to be feeling just a wee bit better. We'll see how he's feeling in the morning. For tonight, he gets to keep his place on my bed (I was afraid he'd be stressed down on the floor with the cats roaming around; at least up on the bed he is closer to his regular roosting level); I guess I'll sleep on the couch. Oh, what we do for our fids! (feathered / furred kids)

(and they're worth every bit of it)
