Long story short, been introducing my five teenagers to the flock and after a few days of repeated visits and separating them after. I thought they'd be good to spend the night. Checked on them this morning and one teenage hen got her neck messed up bad. I separated the rooster from the flock, and put this hen in a pet cage. Can someone help, I don't think it's minor cause piece of her neck is detached. Should I just end her misery, or is there still time to help. She's like 7 to 8 weeks old, isn't moving much, but still alive. Isn't accepting water of food. Please help, I just want to know if she's good as gone or not. *graphic images ahead*

Wounds heal, and the flap can be used as a skin graft. But how is she behaving? Is she conscious? Alert? Can she stand? Is her balance okay?

If she is non-responsive, then there isn't hope and she should be euthanized.

Hey there thanks for the response, but sadly she passed away. To answer you questions, she was conscious but not alert. Did not stand without help, and non responsive for the most part. She did not even drink water. So after the first few hours I sorta expected the outcome. But after leaving her side for 20 minutes, she died. Again thanks for the concern. I think I'm just going to close this thread in the morning.

I am sorry this happened.

What breeds are the other chickens and the rooster? It is a common problem that 'normal' looking chickens do not accept Polish or Silkies as members of their group. If chickens are not raised with them, they do not recognize them as chickens and will bully and kill them. Polish often cannot even flee from the aggression as their vision is impaired by the overgrown crest.

I’m so sorry for your loss.
mare you absolutely sure your rooster did that? Could a predator have gotten in?

No they aren't polish or silliest. Mist of them are mixed and hatched as a joke from grocery market eggs. Unfortunately she already passed away, thanks for the concerns
