1. YOU are in charge, not him
2. DO NOT act or feel afraid. Be confident. You are the boss
3. Establish dominance. If he comes after you, gently (always gentle, never rough or mean, and don’t yell at him, he’ll take it as a challenge) hook your foot under him and lift, tossing him in the air (not high) and letting him land. If he doesn’t land on his feet, you’ve done it too high or hard. Continue until he stops spurring or walks away. It may take a while for him to learn that he’s not the boss anymore.
