Daphne is my lovely white pet runner duck.
Yesterday she was fine, today she can't stand and drags her feet on her belly (as if trying to swim through the grass)
She seems to be able to stand for seconds at a time, before collapsing in a pile.
She prefers one leg to another, so at first I thought she has injured her leg.
She has all the symptoms of being egg bound, but there is no egg in her abdomen.
I put some vegetable oil on my finger and had a feel inside and it's totally empty in there..
She had been laying soft eggs for about 4 days before, I gave her dried egg shells and grit and she perked up and now this. She eats so many snails and insects and forages in the mud, they all get plenty of feed and vegetable scraps.
She is doing big poos where she's lying in the lawn. I have given her a bowl of water and some food with fine grit mixed with water, and a little bowl of spinach so she can reach it.
I HAVE ONLY READ ADVICE FOR DUCKS BEING EGG BOUND IF YOU CAN FEEL THE EGG INSIDE, IS SHE EGG BOUND? IS THE RGG FURTHER INSIDE.
I'm really worried. I love her to bits she such a character.
Please help!
