HELP-- Need advice ASAP, Chicks rockin but no pips day 23

SO SAD, all eggs are still the same, I have 1 that i pipped through and he is still holding on, but he hasn't gone throuth the clear membrane yet and is still in the egg. I am not optomistic about him. I opened another one that I candeled yesterday, nothing inside but green liquid. It is really dissapointing that I didnt get any chicks, I feel that the weather at the time of shipment had a lot to do with it. Or the humidity, which is very hard to regulate. I now have bout 20 egge in another incubator, so we will see how that hatch goes. So dissappointing though!!

None made it, Im on day 25 and the two that had any hope have died. They were completely formed, and died in the membrane. One had a lot of fluid in the sack which makes me believe he drowned. They were very big for the shell, really oacked in there. The others are still in the incubator, no movement (never was) and I am going to open them today. I have another hatch in another incubator which I installed a fan, and they will be ready bout the 24th. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I do not kill these as well.

.....on another note, my hen has a clutch of 4 eggs and I am going to let her lay and sit on them. Seems to me, she's got this whole hatching thing figured out with just her ass. I cant seem to do it with modern technology. With this new clutch I am up every hour of the night checking on them. I have 2 thermometers in there (the ones that came with the little giant) and they are off about 1 degree from eachother both placed on top of eggs at different locations and I have a digital therm/hydrog in there as well propped up against one wall and it is bout 3 degrees lower than the other 2. Humidity says 37% as of this morning. Any suggestions???

I am so Sorry for your loss!!!!

But CHickens have been around for a really long time with out man helping them! I am new and learning myself. I have hatched 42 of 52. staggerd 5 hatches. The 2 i did help died! I have learned very quickly that mother nature nows best. I had a couple sets take 25 days. I think the weather has an effect. We had 2 storm fronts come through about the time they each went into lock down. they both took longer to hatch. The others all hatched on time and went into lock down with out any change in weather. I think there is a connection. I had 1 pip on bottom and drown. 3 fully formed and just didn't make it. the rest died some time in the last week befor lock down. Maybe when I opened the bator to add water. We can only do what we THINK is best for the eggs. The rest is up to nature.

Good Luck and God Bless!

I'm so sorry.

I just bought a spot check thermometer because I'm tired of inaccurate thermometers. Good luck with your next try. And make sure you calibrate your hygrometer.
