This is a picture of the hatching process 20 hours after I first noticed it.
The hatch may have even started sooner. There are no other eggs in this incubation.
This one is the only survivor from a batch of shipped eggs that arrived in bad condition.
It hasn't made any progress in at least 15 hours. The hole is in the middle of the egg.
It isn't chirping but I can see it moving through the hole. It's alive.
My questions:
Is this a malpositioned chick?
Should I try to assist now and if not, how long should I wait before assisting?
Is there anything I can do?
Thanks for any help!

Hi and welcome Circrn!

It's a bit hard to tell from the pic...is the hole made closer to the larger end of the egg?

It is quite hard to tell, an above picture would be better but if it's more to the fat end then it's okay, if it's a Bantam egg they usually hatch a little close to the middle. If there's no improvement after the 24hour mark you could assist hatch, just be very careful

Ok,
Thanks
