I promise you, Kentucky does not get cold to a chicken. Minus 40 or so MIGHT be cold to them. What they need is ventilation and to have no draft on their roost. Ventilation is to let humid air and ammonia out, and needs to be up high. If they are in a barn, though, they probably get enough. It will be great for them, having lots of space.
