I gave a friend who was scared to death of chickens a very rare and elusive bolivian love parrot for christmas once. I told her she could only get feed from me because it was very expensive and had to be imported. She kept that little bantam cochin for over a year in a parrot cage and spoiled it like you would not believe.

OMG you both are so funny!!!

so what happened to the love parrot? did she figure it out when it layed?

Yes yes, do tell... what happened when she figured out it was a "CHICKEN"?

Ok, are they gonna check they are removed? I can't see how hiding what you already have is gonna help.

So, i suggest you take down their pen. Looks like you got rid of them.

Start by getting a fence.....GOLDEN RULE! That way they can not see into your yard. Then either no the trash can coop tractor or do the underground coop! It is sooooo cool~

Do you have a deck? i have seen people put coops under the deck to conceal them.

I wish you the best of luck~

i knwo it doesnt help now, but you shoulda put up the "view barrier" BEFORE you got the chooks, esp if youve had problems with them about your dog. in some neighborhoods they CAN force you to move, i m not sure how tho, but they tried to kick out my uncle bc his 2 and 3yo made "too much noise" in the mornings on their way to the car for daycare!!! he lives in mannassas. Sometimes its hard, but it'd probably be best if you had them rehomed Then try and get them allowed, your neighbor will not be thinking you'll try and change the rules once the chickens have left so probably wont show up to protest therule change. And then i d put up whatever kind of fence IS allowed and lots of shrubs, not only will you be happier, it will force that neighbor to find someone within easier view to pick on. and i SO would do the fake chicken thing, at least Once just to make them look stupid.

In my area -- Charlotte, NC -- the Homeowner's Assoc. can fine the homeowner. And fine them over and over again, until the fines accumulate and then the HOA can foreclose on the home.

We've had cases in the news where a man was fined for flying an AMERICAN FLAG in his front yard in a neighborhood that banned flags. There was a woman who got a letter from her HOA that told her she couldn't park a pickup truck in her driveway.

I would rather live in a tent than one of those neighborhoods.

Amen to that!

I really can't see what perks they offer that would make it worth putting up with an HOA. If they're not complaining about your pets, it's your trashcan that doesn't match everyone else's, or your mailbox is too gaudy, or who knows what.

That's why I moved as far out in the country as I could. Anyone shows up on my porch to complain about my chickens, or anything else for that matter, I'd threaten to fill their backside with buckshot!

Sorry you got busted...hope you can get your rules changed. If not, come join me in the country!

This is why i would never buy in a HOA area! Put the chickens aside....an american flag, a truck, kids making to much noise! I would be sooooo kicked out and fined

oops. (how do you do this quote thing?

I'll just quote Sillystunt -- gotta love that! --

"I would be sooooo kicked out and fined. . . ."

I'd probably more like land in jail.

put them in your basement, spare room, tell the terrorcrats that they are your pets., and next time they need a warrant to come onto your property.
