Did you put some coconut oil on the membrane? You'll need to do this every 1-2 hours to prevent it from drying out.
Is baby yawning or making chewing motions with the beak?
Have you read the BYC article on assisted hatching? Assisted hatching article

Take it slowly, it's best not to rush.

No I haven’t touched the membrane there Selma to be a lot of fluid in the egg- it is making chewing motions and chirping, thank you for the link I really appreciate it,

you'll need to keep the membrane moist, or the chick could be shrink wrapped. Do you have any coconut oil? wash your hands well and then gently apply some to the membrane with your finger-or a Q-tip.
Do this every hour if you can, to keep it from drying out.
Since baby is making chewing motions with the beak, leave him to complete the hatch on his own

I have put coconut oil on the membrane- he is chirping a lot, and stretching, I wish I had read on this site as it seems there is a lot of conflicting information on the net.. thank you so much for your help
