Hello everyone,
I dont post a lot on here but am hoping you can help me figure out whats going on with my little duck Olive. I've done several hours of searching and have been unable to figure out exactly what is going on with her.
Olive is a 1 1/2 year old chocolate runner duck. She's very friendly and will eat out my hand no problem. She also loves food, she is usually always eating throughout the day. Also, she is just finishing her first molt so she has been taking a break from laying eggs for the past month or so.
Currently she is not acting like herself, she has been very quiet, not eating her food and sometimes not even taking her favorite treats from me. She is still up and moving around and hanging out with the other ducks and does not seem to be in any pain at all.
On Wednesday morning she didn't want to get off of her nest box, like she was going to lay an egg but never did. I also noticed liquid white poop in their run which is not normal.
Thursday we noticed more liquid white poop and her continuing to sit on her nest box in the morning. By afternoon she was up and moving around but not eating or taking treats.
Yesterday still not eating food or treats in the morning and thinking she may be having trouble laying an egg. Gave her a warm bath and let her rest inside until I got home from work. Gave another warm bath and .6ml of Calcium Gluconate and put her back outside with the other ducks. She seemed great running around, foraging, swimming and eating treats and bugs but not eating food. However her poop had turned from all white to lime green.
This morning she left me an egg and I was hoping she would be feeling great and back to normal. She ate some peas but still not eating her food. Her poop is again all white.
I want to make sure I'm doing everything I can for her and make sure I'm correctly treating her issue. If it's not an egg laying issue what could it possibly be?
All the other ducks are fine. They have access to oyster shell all the time and are eating Purina flock raiser. Our ducks are pets and I am very concerned for her.
We do have a vet that takes ducks but they are closed until Monday.
Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance for any help
-the pic of white poop is from today but the pic of green poop I found on BYC but looks almost identical.
