Now this says a bit different from another article I read on here. This is saying to wait much longer before assisting as opposed to 8-10hrs for a maloositioned egg. I waited 24hrs. Hope I wasn’t too soon

Just did as suggested and removed some more shell. I stuck to the bruised area and then tried to move the membrane back a little and had a tiny bleed so stopped. You can see where the bleed has seeped into the break in the membrane. The duckling really seems to want out and got all excited and noisy but doesn’t seem to be able to get it’s beak at the right angle.

I'm no expert, but I think that looks pretty good!

If you see blood you havent waiting long enough. Same w/ the yawning. Its still absorbing yolk. You can put a little antibiotic ointment on the membrane staying away from the beak to keep it moist. coconut oil works too. Ducks take longer to hatch then chicks do.

Not much progress at all but more effort has been made the last hour.
We are trying to keep the exposed membrane moist but it is drying out still
