Maybe you can help me?
I have a faulty reading on humidity in the Janoel. I thought so- and when I bought and calibrated an external thermometer/hygrometer, I saw a huge difference (30%). So I was actually running it below 30 (without knowing it until I got the external hygrometer).I immediately ran it higher. I also weighed each egg individually before starting. My digital kitchen scales only do to the closest gram though, so I hope that is adequate...
Today is the end of Day 3. I weighed them. They have lost double what they should have (average 2 grams each) rather than average 0.9 over 2 days. They all seem to be growing. I couldn't see the air cell yet.
Do I double the humidity for a few days compared to what I had it, at? Or is that overkill? I don't want to drown them or prevent adequate gaseous exchange. Suggestions please?

Humidity, unlike temperature, is only an average.

I would have probably figured out the number of days (2) it ran low, and run it a little high for two days as well, so it averages out close to what it should have been. I wouldn't do anything drastic though.

Say I keep mine at 45%, then find it at 25%. If it's only been a few hours, I'll raise it just a bit over 45% for an hour or two. If it's been a day or two, I'd run it at 55% for a day, then back down to 45.

Okay. That helps. The problem is that it ran low for at least a day and until I figured it out- approx 20-24% RH. Then I decided it was still low the next day still (compared to what it should be) and bumped it up. I am now running it on high humidity for a few days (65%) to try to get to the average expected weight loss as they lost double expected despite my efforts on days 2.5 and 3. Now Day 5 and still losing weight at same rate. Eggs are fertile though. So I will keep it up and hope it slows down the weight loss over time. At least I have a few weeks to sort it out and get it all back on track...Fingers crossed. And thank you very much @Debbie292d

I have 3 meters so I average out. I also have better luck dry hatching (low humidity 25-40%) until lockdown when I go to 70.
Actually now a days, I wait until I have a broody or 3, incubate until lockdown and then give them the eggs.

There's several different methods. What ever works best for you.

All very useful as I'm waiting for a broody and probably panicking over nothing..I do have another thermo/hygro coming next week. Thank you @Molpet
