2 year old hen is walking on her hock with her foot curled under. She is eating good and is staying with the flock. She seems to feel well and is bright and alert. I do not see any signs of bumble foot. There are no visible signs of injury, no blood, no scrapes or scratches. Her foot is normal temp and is not swollen. It seems she can not move her toes, they just "hang". Her foot does not seem to be tender to touch or movement. When she walks she ends up on her hock with the foot folded under. If she "hops" the foot will land in correct position, just to fold back again on her next step. Any advise is greatly appreciated as we do not want her to suffer nor do we want to lose her.
Thank you!

Hi there! So sorry to hear about your hen :( is it currently freezing where you are? I ask because it might be frost bite, especially if there’s no movement.

I also recommend human super b complex, 1/2 tablet daily given orally or crushed into a small treat of egg. Walmart sells Equate brand for about $8. She could have injured it causing some nerve damage. Have you added any new birds in the last weeks or months who could have been a carrier for Mareks?

We have had a few cold spells but they were about 2 weeks ago and there is no discoloration to the foot so I'm not sure.

Thank you, I will go get some in the morning! It's definitely worth a try. I have not added any new birds, this flock has been together for close to 2 years.

Thank you! I will give it a try.
We watched our girl hurt her leg. She didn't break it, but must've sprained it. I was told put her in crate to rest her leg. Jumping off her roost would reinjure it. I did that for a week or two and then she would have none of it. She did get way better. But not back to normal. Put her back out with flock, who we did rotate in to visit her , so they wouldn't forget her when she was crated. Now she is much much better and gradually improves..her injury sounds just like your girl. Maybe if you can crate her, so she isn't putting weight on it might help her. Even just a few days.
