2 year old hen is walking on her hock with her foot curled under. She is eating good and is staying with the flock. She seems to feel well and is bright and alert. I do not see any signs of bumble foot. There are no visible signs of injury, no blood, no scrapes or scratches. Her foot is normal temp and is not swollen. It seems she can not move her toes, they just "hang". Her foot does not seem to be tender to touch or movement. When she walks she ends up on her hock with the foot folded under. If she "hops" the foot will land in correct position, just to fold back again on her next step. Any advise is greatly appreciated as we do not want her to suffer nor do we want to lose her.
Thank you!
Thank you!
is it currently freezing where you are? I ask because it might be frost bite, especially if there’s no movement.
