He is probably going to hatch soon. Once he moves into the air cell like he appears he is. He will start pecking to open a hole and allow air in. He will be fine. Listen for chirping, and check for a hole but otherwise leave it be.

Great! Thank you so much for replying, because all sorts of things were going through my mind. I took pics and although they aren’t the best from why I could see when I was taking them, is it looks like he is try to peck a hole.

Then it is all normal! If there is no signs of pecking from the outside in like 3-4 hours I think you should drill a hole.

If it hasnt made an external pip by now, a tiny safety hole at this point won’t hurt anything. Just do it carefully and very small. Pinhole size

How far into the egg should I poke? And he hasn’t done much other than I can see what appears to be a beak in the air sac, but truth be told it’s worrying me because I feel like he’s struggling.
