I just got home, having been gone since about 10:30 this morning and obviously he hatched (or she) while I was away. So what should I do, since the cord thing is still stuck to him?

Is he dragging that thing around...take a look at his belly see where it's attached and how the umbilicus looks...pic would be good.
You can probably snip it off.

Usually they will drag it off on their own, as they get away from the egg.

If it’s firmly attached, you need to access how close to being closed the belly is. Basically is it hanging by thread, or by a rope lol It can usually be snipped, about an inch from the belly, as long as it doesn’t look like it’s going to pull it’s guts out. If the belly isn’t closed up well, I’d leave it attached, even stuff his butt back inside the egg and put him in a shallow cup.

Congrats on the Hatcher!! :love

I’m going to attempt to get a pic of it up close, so maybe you all can better guide me!! I’m going to be too scared to snip it but we shall see if it even needs to be
