Help - Neighbor's chicken escaped and now lives in my yard!

How wonderful that you are taking the time to help this poor creature. I hope you catch her before real cold weather or a preditor kills her.

She will be a good pet for someone. THANKS

Success!!!! I caught Henny Penny this morning using your method. She's been pretty calm. What should I put in the crate while I figure out her home situation? I'm going to call her previous owners but I don't think they're set up for chickens anymore. I'll post another picture in a little while. Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions!

THATS WONDERFUL

If you are only going to have her for a short time then the frozen peas/corn are good to feed her. Also some oatmeal
"dryed old fashioned OAT FLAKES"
fOR BEDDING YOU CAN USE WHAT EVER YOU HAVE.
Wood chips an old rag towel.
In this case it is to bad they only sell layer pellets in 50 pound bags.

What about water? Should I give it to her in a bowl or from a bottle feeder?

Pictures of Henny Penny - a little blurry but she didn't like me pointing a camera at her!

Oh ya. She needs water.

Great Job On The Catch!!!!

If you don't want to start a backyard flock I would be willing to take a ride
to meet you somewhere in between and pick her up. You are only around
1.5 hours from me. We like rescue chickens up here.
