Help! New chick just hatched and...

That is definitely left over yolk in an egg sac. I have had this happen before and have lost chicks BUT I also had a few survive as well. I had a goose hatch like this who grew up and lived just fine. Give it a chance. It may die but you never know.

I wouldn't euthanize it unless it gets listless and weak. Sometimes it will still absorb the yolk if you leave it alone. If more is coming out though, that doesn't look good… but give it some time alone in the incubator.

I had a chick like that, the egg had been under a broody and she tossed it out of the nest so I put in the bator with the other eggs that didn't fit under momma it didn't survive

As of this morning, little "Teacup" is still alive and kicking, although pretty weak. I snipped off what was left of the sac a couple of hours ago, and cleaned her up. (She was a mess from jumping up and down in the cup overnight.) Right now she is drying off and in the brooder with the other chicks and other than being a little weak, she is getting around.

My real concern at this point is getting her to eat something since she didn't absorb the yolk; she obviously needs that nutrition! Any ideas on what I can give her from a dropper? Egg yolk maybe?

Thank you all for your concern and input - I know she's not out of the woods yet, but there is hope!

I am so glad she made it through the night! She may just pull through. I have no idea what to feed her but my fingers are crossed that you get something down her.
