One of my new layers is dropping and egg wherever and then breaking it all up. My two BRs lay in the nest boxes and do fine but one of my EEs is killing me with this egg breaking thing. Today she layed on a patio chair and I went out and the egg was all broken and ran all over. Now I am afraid she will always do this. Any suggestions from you more seasoned chicken owners out there?

Well, I'm not as seasoned as some but here goes...

If she were not on your patio she would not be able to lay there, I assume.

So lock her in until she lays in the welcoming, wooden egg-filled nestbox which has lots of padding and high sides, and is located in a somewhat dark area in the coop.

Also, new layers are goofy so this is kinda normal. Kinda.

I know I shouldn't let them out yet but they get squawky and I don't want to disturb my neighbors so that is why I let them out early. My Barred Rocks have been great and head back in the coop to lay so why these two dorks aren't I have no idea. Let's hope they get it. I will try to keep them in later like you suggested maybe keeping them busy with a morning treat.

I know how much noise they can make: sounds like the world's gonna come to an end.

However, it does only take a few days of ignoring them to get them to be quiet. Well, mostly quiet. OK, somewhat quieter than a building exploding.

Good luck!
