Now getting to my emergency... I know I know it looks like pasty butt.. but it is literally like attached to her... And it is soft not hard.. I am scared because she is so so small and tiny and how could she have a vent prolapse and even so this this thing is not that like it doesn't look like the pictures of prolapsed vents.

Currently she is soaking in just warm water. I at first thought prolapse vent because they was blood and a protrusion. I found her with her little mates but they stayed away from her. This whole thing literally happened in two hours. No signs of pecking or damage.

So thinking vent prolapse, try to push it back in, but she is so small. Anyways, we are on day 3 of this. Nothing is working no sugar, no prep h, no Epsom salts, she has liquid white poo, and yesterday I just got her eating some warmed up mushy food with some sugar in it.. but it isn't much and she doesn't do it on her own.

She sleeps all day. And sorry to mention but yes she is separated from the other littles. I am just at a loss now. What looked like a vent prolapse (which how because no changes in diet and she is nowhere close to laying yet) and now it looks like pasty butt.. please someone help and tell me what this is???

I am sorry I didn't wipe her area before photos. When she doesn't have poo on it it is like a deflated sack. Also she is pooing white and liquid.

Can you soak and get her cleaned up and then take a picture? We can tell more seeing her vent. Constipation can cause straining and a prolapse. If that is a possibility, you can feed some chilled coconut cut into small chips, up to 1 tsp daily. If there is a prolapse hanging out, keep it moist with ointment until it can be pushed in.

I have tried, but the thing that is coming out just occludes the whole vent. When I look up close (without my glasses) I can fully see her vent all the way around picking up the sack thing.. It really looks like intestines..

It may be her intestines. How much is out? If the prolapse has come out that far, the chick will die. It might be best to put the chick down unfortunately. If a vet is possible you could go there for help.

Maybe a half inch to an inch?.. I am at a loss for what I did wrong.. this was out last batch of chicks..and nothing has happened to any of them.. I have had 29 healthy chicks.. and now this sick one that I don't know what to do..

About all you can do is to keep soaking her vent area, and keeping the prolapse moist with ointment. If it doesn’t improve soon, I think culling may be the best. If you could get a clearer picture of what is hanging out that would be good. With droppings or mucus on the vent it is hard to tell much. I see that you have another thread now about her. Sometimes it is good to keep your first thread going and keep posting for more help. That way more will see it.
