I have a second group of chicks. These little guys are not doing so good. every other day I wake up to a dead chick. This is all I have noticed: they have a very smelly medium brown runny poop. I keep clean water every day, clean bedding which is hay (first I tried pine they died in it) I give them antibiotic chick starter feed, I have checked and regulated heat, I just started adding electrolytes, worming and vitamins to water is there anything else I can do and what can be the problem. I have checked their butts they are nice and clean. please help before I loose all of them.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2 on post in the Emergencies forum iwiw60 linked for you, so sorry about the chicks. Give as much information as possible. How old are they, how many, what kind, where did they come from, how big/what is your brooder set up like, how much and what are you supplementing/ medicating them with etc.

How old are they? Did they seem healthy when you first got them? Do they show some particular symptoms before they die?

Are they in a brooder? what is the temperature there. Do they have space to get away from the brooder light if they feel too hot. Do they have enough ventilation? Do you have a wire covering over the top of the brooder - so they get some air?

Or do you have them outside? What are your temps like? Do they have shade so they can get away from the sun?
