Help! No clue how to candle

The first pic of the chicken egg looks like it has a chick in it. It's kinda hard to tell. Usually if they are bad they will be totally black..no air cell. When you have an air cell then a black part the black can be an ok chick or it can be a started then stopped chick. In the future I would leave it be and see if it continues to grow darker and still has an air cell. When the chick is newly formed you can see the veins. As the chick ages the veining isn't so obvious. Eventually you won't see anything but the air cell and the other end will be black. I have had chicks hatch out of eggs I thought were not going to make it and I have had them look fine and not hatch. I leave mine for quite awhile but I don't use a bator and I am more careful when it is hot out. You don't want a bad exploding egg to spoil the entire hatch.

Try a really strong flash light. I have a Makita one.
