Hello-

We have six chicken, 2year old girls, who this summer have stopped laying. We did add some new girls to the mix this srping and we expected them to stop for that, and then we were visited by a fox, and again expected loss of eggs from that. That said, we've had maybe a dozen eggs total this whole summer from my laying girls. I miss my eggs!!! How can I get my girls' to lay eggs???

Thanks-
Melissa

You should still be getting eggs from 2 year old hens.....Are you positive you don't have egg snakes? Are there any egg eaters in your group????

Also, what are you feeding them?

You need to be on laying mesh.

ALso, you might want to put up a light to increase "solar" time during the day....

Have you checked to be sure there are not some other problems? health wise?

Hope this helps...

Are they by chance free ranging, and laying some where other than the nest boxes? Last winter I was getting 0-6 eggs a day. Then my brother and I made a run for them (it would of been too crowded to just lock them in the coop). All of a sudden I was getting 18-24 eggs a day.

Now that you mention it, I bet they are over crowded. This summer we added some baby girls to the mix. Thanks!
