I have been trying to do an incubation project with my students and this month has been a bad month for building maintenance. We have had a water main burst and had all our water and plumbing turned off for weeks, which means no boiler to heat the building! Our temps inside the incubator have gotten down to 95-97 a couple of times and our eggs look like they are 4-5 days behind in development. Today should be day 18 and I would put them into lock down but they just don't look ready. What are the downsides of locking down early? I currently have them in an automatic egg turner. Should I take them out of that and raise humidity as best I can and just hope for the best? Can they wait to go into lock down until Monday if they look days behind?? Will they get ruined somehow if I do take them out of the egg turner before they're ready?! HELP!
