sorry to read about your chick i hope he or she makes it.
just thought i would share that my daughter was born like this and i didnt know chickens could be but now that i think about it i guess anything could be.
Oh i am sorry about your baby! Baby humans are much more importent than a chicken. A chicken you can cull and its over, but a human you cant because its an amazing little life! I hope that your baby is ok now though!!!
thanks it was really scary but she is fine now she just had to be in the hospital for a month when she was born (she is two now) and the only way you can tell anything is different is that she doesnt have a belly button it is just a scar
but it is still sad about you little chick i get to attached to my pet to cull ...lol (i a sissy about that stuff)
i put my chicks out side for the first time yesterday and i felt so bad wh en it got dark that i brought them a blanket to sleep on ...lol
Good i am glad she is fine and healthy! I think it would be kinda cool to say i dont have a belly button!!! haha And my chick seems fine, its dry what ever it is. And i dont think it hurts him when i tuchy it!

Is the stuff still outside of it?? if it was the yolk it would be a little yellow sack. The chick should absorb it all and have nothing left. If it is his intestines and they are getting dried up, the chick will most likely die as the intestines are supposed to be on the inside. Can you post a picture?
