I think there are some pics on here somewhere of someone using egg cartons to turn. If not, I would be happy to take some. I have two bators going right now.

Here you go.

I hope you can tell by the pics what is going on. You just have the eggs, fat end up, in the cartons. Use whatever you are propping with to turn the carton from side to side 3 times a day, when you would normally turn your eggs. When it is time to stop turning just take out the prop and leave the carton sitting flat.

Hope this helps.

efff dont you know it! That is the most frustrating thing to do. Especially with a Styrofoam incubator because you have to be so careful not to scrub so hard.

I do have a friend who but the bottom in the dishwasher the other day though. Said he turned the "heat dry" off and used it on a light wash, with a little detergent. Said it was as clean as brand new when it came out. I'm just too scared to try it...

I am glad you are going to try and hatch some eggs; I am too!
I made a homemade incubator though, but we have to turn the eggs by hand too.
But it isn't that hard! You have to turn them at least 3 or more times a day. It's not very hard. Just mark each side of the egg with numbers(from 1 to 3 or 4) and then when you put the egg in, make sure the side with the 1 on it is facing up. Then, after a while, turn the egg over so the 2 is facing up. Do this until you get to 3 again. Then at the end of the day, leave it there for the night. Maybe you should also wake up in the night sometimes(like at 12:00 a.m. and turn the egg to 1 again and then you keep doing this. the eggs will hatch in 21 days!

Good luck!
